gettin on gettin on…

November 4, 2013

You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

What a sweet poem, I’m a combo of all those things. I cry over Maggie but glad I met her and shared memories. The tears shed less and less and more smiles come as time goes by. Great pictures and memories of Chuck.

Oh Lori, dear sweet Lori. What a lovely, lovely poem……sentiments that we all need to embrace and KNOW this to be true. It’s what our loved ones would all want us to do…to feel.

Did you take those precious photos? A beautifully laid out format that honors Chuck so eloquently The photo looking up to the sky through the trees…it just somehow “speaks’ to my heart. It just says so much through it’s silence and beauty. It jist surrou ds you with serenity.

Your son…and you…are watched over by a very special Angel, very, very special. And we are all sooooooo privileged to be a part of your continuing joureny. We are grateful to Chuck for bringing you here with him.

This poem says it all so well. It seems to start, “Dear Lori……..and ends with, “Love Chuck”

Hugs to you and your precious family! And lots of Chuck snuggles surrou dingnyou forever!!

This is a beautiful poem & so very true Lori. I know I feel like this with Sassy. I still miss her & still shed tears but I think of her often and smile. I see a lot of her in Snickers but I know Snickers is her own dog 🙂

You did a great job with all the pictures. I know Chuck was with you on this hike. Thanks for sharing him with us
